Christmas changes when you grow up

When I was younger, My notion was that Christmas solely equates with gifts.

But as I grow, those that are intangible are more important. Lord, thank you for the gift of family, for the sacrifices they make, the love they share and my source of joy. Thank you for the gift of friends, the people I consider as my second family. Thank you for the gift of life, for giving me chances to witness your glory and adore it's beauty.

Happy Birthday Lord!

P.S.
I'll be in General Santos City. teheee!

you've been farM too kind

Hi! short for Hello!

Farmville indeed has a great extent of charm to lure down people to use this application. And a vulnerable weakling on PC games like me can't help but get hooked.

2009 is ending and my new year resolution would be: avoid computer games that cause addiction and become more prolific. But you don't really believe me don't you?
Nobody can really live up with his new year's resolution for the whole year down.

Anyway, after about 2 weeks of playing Farmville I've come to reach my goal: buy a house! Also, I want to grab this opportunity to thank my farmville neighbors and friends who were very generous on sending gifts!
On Christmas eve, I was able to open more than a hundred! Daghang Salamat! That's thanks a lot!

Before I say bye bye to Farmville craze, let me share to you some cheats although I wasn't able to use them (Honest! Promise!).

Ever wonder How to Create Gold Eggs. Visit the link provided (click here).
If you want to go to the next level instantly, just visit the steps provided by visiting this link (click here). Now, you don't have to work hard to reach level 19 just to make the cottage available on the market.
Here is a program that allow automatic harvest, soil preparation and seeding but the best part is that you can exchange coins for experience. This program has a lot more to offer, discover it by yourself by visiting the link (click here).
Among the cheats, this one is my favorite. Why? Because the author is a Filipino. The instruction is written on Tagalog. Astig ng Pinoy! This is for those users who need money.

Misa del Gallo

I went to bed at 3:20am today, the time I usually wake up for the past 9 days. Traditionally, Christmas season is celebrated in Philippines by 9-day dawn masses (4:30am by experience) that start on the 16th of December.

Going to Mass for nine consecutive days is meant to show the churchgoer's devotion and faith to God as well as to heighten anticipation for the Nativity of Jesus. Popular belief, however, is that the completion of the novena will merit a boon or that a special wish made by the devotee will be granted by God. /wikipedia/

To be honest, one of the reasons why I went to mass is that I want to experience a respite and end this year “right” despite from all the negative things that had happened to our family this 2009, very emotionally exhausting. The major change that happened was my onkel’s death. I spent the first day of this year in the hospital with him in the ICU. He was hospitalized again few days after summer. His heart valve was shrinking making his immune system incapable to protect him. A simple runny nose was a major problem on his case. On October few days before my birthday, he passed away. He’s happy somewhere, I know. =)

I am very happy to share to you that I completed the 9 mornings. I haven’t tried going to dawn mass before. Here are some photos and its short stories:

The mass starts at 4:30am but even if you arrive 30 minutes before the time, it does not guarantee

you that you can sit inside the church. For 8 consecutive mornings we sat outside, there were even

times when we have to stand. So many people lah! On the 9th day, at last we managed to sit

inside. I don't have a photo on how the altar looked, I am never comfortable

taking photos inside the church. Maulaw ko.

Still Dark! Old friends + New friends = :D That's me wearing white! At the left most wearing yellow
shirt is kuya Klint, a seminarian (who is currently sick that's why he's not wearing the
"white Harry Potter cloak", coined by Kuya RJ).
Lourie, Roger, Dexter, Rachel
and Wada, thank you sa pagsundo every morning. Salamat sa pagkuha
og picture Karl. Lily, Shanell and Rhen,
salamat sa maayong pagtagad. =)

Kakanin kayo jan! Vendors selling our so-called Hot Coke Float. After mass, what else to do?
Pig Out!

A photo with Fr. Amado Picardal, the priest who presided today's event.
To my surprise, He's a blogger! At the right most,
wearing white cloak is a seminarian/blogger,
Kuya RJ. Cool! (check out my blog list)

Happy Birthday Lord!

Dreamer's Disease

I have a lot of dreams and goals in life.

But I think one of the greatest hindrance from achieving success is the lost of focus on the things that are labeled as necessary. There are some unnecessary things that I opt to do because I find it necessary to make my life more exciting and not to burn myself on building my name. These technically unnecessary yet necessary things that I'm mentioning include playing online games, get hooked on favorite television shows, the serious vice: Movie marathon and the like. I'll never say nor impose that we should get rid of these things, yet those must be controlled.

That problem with us dreamer is that we love to sleep and dream on the things we want to be yet we would loose our energy on making them part of our reality. Hence, it is a decision if we want to just get stuck up on our beds and continue dreaming or wake up, work hard and make them come true. Change in lifestyle is undeniably scary but to stay still on where you're at, not improving yourself is worse.

Wake up kids. We've got the dreamers disease. This whole damn world can fall apart. You'll be okay. Follow your heart. Fly high. What's real can't die.
Just don't be afraid to live - You get what you give, New Radicals.

Press on!

Shake your Bom Bom PUTO BUMBONG

I thought it is called Puto bong bong! *embarrassed* At least now I know. =) Aside from my first time of attending Misa del gallo, here is my another first time... to eat this very famous filipino food that is pale pinkish-purple colored glutenous rice covered in butter. I brought this kakanin from church and ask my father how am I suppose to eat it since I found it tasteless at first. He grumply replied, "just eat it!" It was just later that afternoon when I discovered that it should be sprinkled with coconut and the downside, my father already ate my bombom! :(

Puto Bumbong seemed to be synonymous with simbang gabi but its origin is not known but evidently dates back to the early Spanish era. It was believed to have been brought over from Mexico by Legazpi and Urdaneta. Some trace it to the pastoral times when fishermen kept vigil and then proceeded to church at dawn to hear Mass. After the dawn Mass, they would relieve their hunger and weariness with puto bumbong and salabat (ginger tea). Others attribute it to the harvest season when farmers would attend Mass and offer their thanksgiving for abundant grain. /www.lhmint.org/

TRIVIA "Puto" means steamed glutinous rice, and "bumbong" means bamboo cannon.

If you are looking for its recipe, click here.

Stay tuned for more Philippine native delicacies

Ugly Truth about PY

Hi! I’m Pacu, Yuli, Ann, Young, Campbell, Levi, Julie, Anot, etc.

I have hundred of thousands of other names but for now call me Py.

I believe I’m dumb and genius at the same time.

I understand that you could find this enigma as bizarre.

Foremost, nothing of me is original.

I am a combination of everything that I had come across.

My thoughts have been greatly influence by my experiences.

I’ve been abusing my eyes lately.

As much as I want to own reading glasses, I opt to deprive my self on seeing clearly

because I don’t want to give people an opportunity to blame me on a problem

that I myself had caused. Yes, high pride has been killing me softly.

I am never proud on my rotten behaviors.

I have done a lot of stupid things (beyond your imagination) in the past that I wish I didn’t do.

I was very mischievous and am now very apologetic especially to my parents of the things that they have and not yet known.

I was raised by entertaining only what is necessary.

I am full of guilt whenever I get what I want.

At times, I feel that I have no right to be happy.

I always envy those people who have the freedom to chase on what they want.

I always thought that things that would land on my lap as I want it but these days life has been successfully throwing frustrations on me.

I always find it burden whenever my parents contradict my decisions.

They are my weakness.

The greatest resolution of every disappointment is the realization that my family is always there for me.

They are my strength.

I appreciate my parents more that I could ever tell them.

In every gloomy occasion, I always wish that my Uncle Edwin is still alive.

He does not ask what happened nor give advice.

He just hugs me, in his arms I find comfort.

I prefer to be alone but lie to everyone that I don’t feel lonely.

I like it when I’m down because I have no other way to go but up.

I like it when I have nothing because that would mean I have nothing to loss but only to gain

My heart has been broken and I had broken hearts couple of times but I never consider myself as broken.

I would often find it surreal when people to good things for me. I have this fear of loving as it would equate hurting yet I’m willing to take the risks.

Pleasing others does not please my self at all.

I easily get hurt. To amend, I only let few people enter my heart.

I try to put too much caution on choosing people whom to love.

Few people to cherish (who would eventually hurt me on one way or another),

the less pain whenever they give cause me disappointments.

To be honest, this life strategy has not yet given me good results.

I easily forgive but never ever forget.

I have this belief that once people offend and disappoint me, they will do it again and again and again.

Trust me, holding grudge is the least that I want to do.

I label a person a friend whenever my instinct tells me that she’s a good person.

I never regret of befriending anyone, so far.

There are a lot of things that I wish to do.

My greatest fear would be failure As a kid, I had dreams to be a businesswoman who owns number of establishment,

flight steward who travels the world, scuba diver who invades atlantis, a healer who heals the sick,

educator who teaches kids how to read and write blog, photographer who preserves ecstatic moments

and an inspiration to others. I know it will come true, someday.

My greatest dream is to provide a life for my family that is full of happiness and free from worries and necessity to make sacrifices.

I put great efforts on trying to be a good Christian, I often fail though

I have come to a realization that I have chosen to be miserable by often making horrible decisions.

These days, I want to avoid expectations. I wish people will just be surprised on my achievements.

I am never satisfied with my accomplishments, some of my abilities remain static and refuse to progress.

Resolving hat issue has been my longest battle so far.

I could be an epitome of imperfection but I strongly believe that I have done some things that merit.

Waking up each day is a sign to me that I am not a finish product of nature,

a lot of things to improve, a lot of things to amend.

I am always hopeful of things that are bigger and greater, so I’m keeping my faith.

Poser Face

This idea of posting this entry came to me way back in college when my friend sarah gave me a friendster profile link. To my surprise, the user's photo looked very familiar, the blue jacket, the lips…hmm… suspicion was on air. “Hey wait, that’s my photo! It wasn’t a biggie anyway since my face was cropped. lol

Few weeks ago, I was amused by this poem created by my friend. Thanks for the Tag! This piece is really interesting dids! Web Master’s WARNING: Ito ay may halong kapilyohan kaya wag kanamang magalit kaibigan

POSER
by Dids Buñales Bello

POSERS are everywhere,
So friends, BEWARE!
They seem to be REAL,
But it is SURREAL.

They can be your FRIENDS,
So take good CARE.
Maybe it's time to INVESTIGATE
To know who's the real SYNDICATE.

I made this poem to WARN you all,
That POSERS have faces harder than the wall.

Out of my curiosity on the topic, I sent some random personal messages to some of my contacts on facebook for their opinions. I understand this is quite morbid and I’m sincerely thankful for your responses!

“Imitation is the sincerest for of flattery” - Charles Caleb Colton
“…Ergo, thank you” added by Miss Shelly Dimaculangan.

(Making it clear, this post has nothing to do with the forum conflict).

As for the initial impression of having a poser, sure that compliment gives you a great feeling. “Yes, it would be flattering because usually posers denotes admiration and I appreciate that” asserted by one of UP’s most well known volleyball varsity player today, Miss Rebbeca Gail “Jed” Montero. “Given the fact that you have a poser will obviously make you feel flattered”, she added.

The main subject of concern in this issue is the invasion of privacy. Mitchy Sun, a junior from SPC confessed that there comes a point that she got vexed when people would use her photo without her permission and even pretending to be her. Ditto, Deniece Tan’s concern (not the UST setter turned court side reporter Denise Tan) another student from the said school, aside from photo grabbing she worries that people would make up some stories about her.

Things could really turn upside down when a tribute would go to an undesirable extent like what Miss Celine Ann Hernandez, a lady spiker from De la Salle University had experienced. “I had one poser dating someone online, and of course, I had no idea what the guy was talking about when he came across my own real facebook account. Really, posing as someone can mean great danger to the real person”.

My question is, why would people want to pretend to be someone else? Could be his life that he’s living is not bearable enough? Sure that there are times that we want to be someone else like for me, I want to be the daughter of Bill Gates.
But things are just different when you are already causing hassle to other people.

As a conclusion, here’s a note from Miss Celine: “Honestly speaking, it's very bothering. Why would you want to be someone else when you have your own identity to share and cherish? God made us all in His likeness, but that doesn't mean we have to put ourselves in other people's shoes and real life situations. It saddens me that people have the time to pretend to be someone else when they could have spent their time showing what God blessed them with” . Need less to say more, just touché!

Dear posers, please be careful not to ruin a life. Thank you!

ahhh yeah!

QUEST CREW!!!
I'm so Addicted to you!

I was actually looking for Jabbawockeez Videos because I heard they are Filipinos but eventually hooked to their rival Quest Crew. I was denying at first, convincing my self that there’s no other crew better than Jabbawockeez but holler I can’t help but appreciate the Quest!

Take a look on how they groove.
(A friendly reminder: please don’t forget to breath)

As thrilled by the tunes of their moves and really getting bored with the songs stored in my phone, I decided to search for the song titles that they used. Instead, the search gave me great surprise. Some hip peeps are Pinoy! Whohoooo!
  • Daniel Ryan “Ryanimay” Conferido is a Filipino Descent

HANNAH MONTANA THE MOVIE - movie review
Synopsis. Hannah Montana: The Movie opens with Hannah's ($Miley Cyrus) hectic lifestyle wrecking the important relationships in her life. Because she gets into a catfight over shoes with Tyra Banks, she forgets to say goodbye when her brother leaves for college, and she's late for her best friend's sweet sixteen because she's being chased by the paparazzi. Anxious to get Miley back to her roots, her manager/father (Billy Ray Cyrus), whisks her away to their hometown in Tennessee, where he hopes grandma and the locals will help the selfish star reconnect to some simple family values. Since Miley wants to be Hannah most of the time, she hates being stuck in the backwoods town, but a cute young ranch hand -- and her grandmother's love -- eventually melts her heart. And, when the town needs to raise cash to stop a developer from soiling their perfect little community with a big, evil mall, what celebrity performer do you think might just show up to save the day? ~ Perry Seibert, All Movie Guide

The Verdict

I tried to be as objective as possible but while watching this movie, I kept on saying to my self when will this movie be over so I can go to sleep. Sure it's nice to see the whole crew acting in a much bigger setting and enjoyed watching our lead star singing and dancing. The thing is, there's no excitement. She changes her clothes to fit the role as Hannah and Miley, same concept used on the tv show. Boring. Sorry Cyrus fans, I feel like I'm having anhedonia (did I use the word correctly?)

A Sigmund Freud wannabe, here's my Growth and Development theory:
*Kids who allow you to call them baby (age 6 and below) prefer to watch Dora the explorer for western like Americans and Manga series for Asians.
*Kids who would get mad when you call them baby and would prefer 'young lady' love to watch Hannah Montana.
*Type of television shows would reflect children's behaviors respectively.

...

Firstly, the photo has nothing to do with sensuality. While looking for photos of Miley, I saw this in a gallery page of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemate Cathy Remperas. *scratching my head*. isn't that Miley Cyrus? If i remember it correctly, she posted that photo on her twitter page. Anyway, Cathy is papa's bet because she's from the beautiful island of Bohol, papa's hometown. I'm still confuse who's johan and paul jake. Don't they look alike? It's only recent that I discovered Ricca's sexuality. *I'm very outdated, boooo!*So that's why he has this masculine look. Anyway, I like her personality!
...
New season for UAAP this week. Last day was a skirmish between DLSU and UST. 11-15, 5 sets, La salle. Don't be sad tigress fans, sure our fave spikers did a great job. It was one of the most thrilling game i've ever seen. What a great way to open the season! Feels like it was the championship game. Credit goes to the UST's 16 year old rookie with height of 6'1 Santiago. You're awesome!

Dear Happyness

Ladies and gentlemen and everyone in between...
presenting to you...

THE EPITOME OF IDIOCY

Did I just defame my self, Did I? What's on my mind? What's on my? What's on? What's? Who's idot? weh? Feels like my joie de vivre has left me once again. Have you seen it? Disappointed. Frustrated. Hate it!
...
I miss my friends. Thank you Mr. quack doctor Richard Manabilang for the sms that really make sense and to his vast supporters for the clever opinions. I miss my going to school. Studying these medical root words doesn't really heal an inch. By the way I'm enrolled as medical transcriptionist. I think that's the only good thing that happened to me since december, so far. I'm trying to recapitulate if there's anything good that happened.. .. .. .. oh great! WALA!
...
Life is unfair. I ate raisins and now my tonsils hurt so so bad! Feels like I'm gonna have tonsilitis again. Here's the list of food that troubles my tonsils: Fresh Milk, softdrink, doughnut, candy, chocolates, cakes, junk foods, brownies, ice cream and the like. I'm currently on soft bland diet plus gagrle of iodine. Have you realize how fortunate you are to eat those foods without minding your health?
...
I'll tell you a little secret. This should be just between the two of us, promise? Here's the thing, I'm not sure if I did shade set A on my test paper. We are talking about the board exam by the way, highway. That's a life changing issue. Whooo Lord tabang!
...
Life as a student is much easier that living in the real world. You constantly have allowance. Aim to pass the quiz, pass and defend your Case study to a biohazard-toxic Clinical Instructor, be a slave in the hospital, eat in a near by tindahan in your Community exposure, sleeping and eating while pretending that your listening to your professor, celebrate for another Dean Lister recognition, etc. Living in the real world? gosh! Feels like I'm so lost.
...
Allison Mack once said in Smallville that, "when everything is on your way, your in a wrong lane". Why is everything not on my lane? Now Tell me if I'm on the right lane.
...
However, My best friend* Og Mandino said: If you are not prepared for discouragements and disillusions; if you will not be content with a small result for big effort, then do not begin. Lie down again and resume the uneasy doze which you call your existence. Persuade me to believe that.

*Ako lang ang may alam na best of friends kami.

The price of success is the struggle to defeat belittlement, insult, jeer, sarcasm and insolence. Like what sir Jay-Ar Sta Ana said, Bring it on b*, bring it on! :P

Nothing Hill

Nothing Hill Movie Review

Cast: Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant
Directed by: Roger Michell

Genre: Comedy
and Romance
Tagline:
Can the most famous film star in the world fall for just an ordinary guy?

Synopsis. Every man's dream comes true for William Thacker, an unsuccessful Notting Hill bookstore owner, when Anna Scott, the world's most beautiful woman and best-liked actress, enters his shop. A little later, he still can't believe it himself, William runs into her again - this time spilling orange juice over her. Anna accepts his offer to change in his nearby apartment, and thanks him with a kiss, which seems to surprise her even more than him. Eventually, Anna and William get to know each other better over the months, but being together with the world's most wanted woman is not easy - neither around your closest friends, nor in front of the all-devouring press. Written by Julian Reischl

The Verdict

Tune In. No matter what by Boyzone, I do (Cherish you) by 98 Degress, She by Elvis Costello, When you say nothing at all by Ronan Keating and my favorite You’ve got a way by Shiana Twain. In creating a movie, it is a must to have good music. Music is one of the factors that deliver the audience into the emotions that want to express. Imagine a horror movie with a jolly soundtrack. Well, isn’t that weird? The meticulous choice of love songs is just superb! Also, the tunes make people remember this movie without difficulty.

Surreal but nice! Having a tagline for a movie is familiar with us Filipinos. Remember that, "walang himala, ang himala ay nasa puso ng tao." I know I sound oldie but come on kids know that even though they are wondering who Nora Aunor is. Excuse me, what's the tittle of the movie by the way? Another ingredient for a movie to be successful is the quotable quotes. Those phrases that you wanna hear over and over again, lines that inspires young filmmakers. For this movie, "I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy, aking him to love me" When you hear that, you know its from Notting Hill!

A little mistake. When William takes Anna back to his apartment, after the thrown-orange-juice incident, his shirt is stained, she comes into the apartment and changes. Then she leaves. When she returns to get her other bag, his shirt is still stained but after she kisses him the stain is gone. Magic kiss eh?

Thrill on every hill. Filipinos are spoiled viewers. Most of the time when there’s a tragic ending it is considered as a bad movie, this makes me love the film. For this one, there are a couple of times when you would say uhhhh, how sweet but then suddenly they are not on each other’s arms again. Their happiness was always as thin as ice, making the viewers eager on knowing when will they end up together.

Surreal but real. Most movies would use an idea of using the ordinary lives of people as the basis while for this one is just surreal, a one in a million chance. Yet, I think how come people can relate is that this could be a common dream-love-story of most of us can relate. Either they would admit it or let it dwells on the subconscious mind.

With wit. So William guessed that Leonardo de Carpio is an Italian director, nice wild guess, but didn’t get even managed to hit any ring used in darts. Another thing, Whoopsidaisies! Great that I don’t use that expression, so that makes me not from the 50’s.

All time favorite. I saw this movie for a multitude of times now. Twice this day. This movie never fails to give its audience the exuberance of falling in love.

The Proposal

The Proposal Movie Review

Cast: Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds

Directed by: Anne Fletcher

Runtime:
1 hr 48 mins

Genre: Comedy

Synopsis.
Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock) is the executive editor-in-chief of a book publishing company, Colden Books, who forces her assistant Andrew Paxton (Ryan Reynolds) to marry her in order to avoid being deported to Canada. He grudgingly accepts, under the condition that he is promoted to the position of editor. When the government investigates, the two are forced to spend the weekend with his parents in Alaska in order to sell the lie. The family suggest they could marry the same weekend, and they reluctantly accept. They start to fall genuinely in love as they spend more and more time together. Because of this, during the wedding ceremony, Margaret decides she cannot do this to Andrew and confesses the business arrangement in front of everyone--including the immigration officer handling their case. She is then told that she has 24 hours to get back to Canada, and thus goes back to New York to pack her things. Upon doing so, however, Andrew shows up at the office and confesses his love for her in front of the entire office staff, proposing marriage all over again.[D-Man2010]

THE VERDICT

On the positive note. Sandra Bullock has this goddess look and with Hunk Reynolds, sure thing they have chemistry.

An Average because it can be worth while. My favorite scene was when Grandma Annie (Betty White) asked Margaret to dance with her in the tune of local chant. That was really funny!

Define Thrill. Like most of the movie goers want to see is the quality of the story, for this one it's predictable. Even seeing the movie poster, a woman proposing to a man would indicate that she has strong personality and the guy will eventually give in, fall in love. Despite of that, I found this movie enjoying to watch, it's worth while.

Looks Familiar. Remember the movie "How to Loose a Guy in 10
Days", where our lovebirds go to the guy's hometown and she'll realize how good her man is. uhm... yes. that's it. Ditto

At least they made a little twist.
If you're a movie geek, I know you have seen the scene where a guy run after his love one in the airport, trying to stop her and be with him happily ever after. I know you've seen that! I know! gee... well at least it didnt end up like that although it was grandma Annie's plan. Speaking of recycle, how many times did you heard the lines, "maawa ka", "bakit? naawa ka ba sa akin noon" in our local screen? Laugh out loud or puke. Tell me whatever happened to creative mind?

P.S.
Don't get discourage with my 3/5 rating. This movie is worthwhile, why do I kept on repeating that? because it's really worthwhile! So If your extremely bored, This movie can offer you a sweet delight.

Crouching Tigress Wounded Falcon

University of Santo Tomas Versus Adamson University.
Finals. Game 1
Photos from a good man Joey Villaluz.

Both coaches are confident. It was a roller coaster ride for Adamson before they landed in the court fighting for the finals. Drums beating from both schools giving more intensity to the game. Adamson scored first yet Maiza (Aiza+Maizo) hit things up by her solid blocks, showing off why she was the best blocker last conference. Angela Benting, the team captain of the flying ladies continues to amaze me with her superb high leaps equating to UST’s height advantage. Side note: Angela or gela, the pride of Bacolod is a record setter, having 37 point in a game. Call her human?! Back to UST Maruja “Maru” Banaticla, 16 year old rookie is playing like a veteran with a 67% attack percentage making her as one of the tigress’ scoring machines. Seeing her play, I know she’ll be one of the future Philippine Volleyball Superstars. Maizo plus crowd favorite Ma. Angeli Tabaquero continue to slash falcon’s wings through their blocks and power spikes earning 3 and 17 points respectively compared to Adamson’s 1 and 10. Set One ended by 25-15 for UST.

Adamson waddly started this set while both team captains seem to have bad hair day. Turing things around, it's Adamson’s veteran Jill Gustillo and beginner acting like a veteran Pau Soriano creating damage to UST’s offense by building a wall on top of the net saying, “no balls from tigers allowed” Indeed, both are successful as Benting gradually getting her groove back on the later half with her “off the block” intelligent attacks. Another falcon soaring high, fresh from the bench Hiponia, the serve specialist scored 3 straight aces. Although Roxanne Pimentel, famously called as "ate Rox" tried to stop falcons through her blocks and famous running attacks it wasn’t enough, Adamson owned the second set 19-25

A rumble on the 3rd set! Maiza, still not on her element, getting frustrated seeing her team playing the game of Adamson. Meantime Maru is back in the game replacing Judy Ann Caballejo and tall setter Rhea Dimaculangan successfully and consecutively denying Angela Benting scoring some points, In the end it’s the 34 year old Philippine Volleyball National Hero Roxanne Pimentel scores the set point 22-25, UST.

Although you can see in the photo that it’s a skirmish against San Sebastian, focus your attention to the triple-man block. Not one, not two but there tall ladies with Pimentel, standing 6’1 in the middle also called as the GREAT WALL OF UST. This is an effective strategy on stopping Benting's sharp spikes. On the other side of the coin, it is Pau Soriano, blocking the UST superstarts, Aiza Maizo and Rox Pimentel. An 8-0 run in favor to the Falcons, started when Benting set foot on the serving area. Another turn around of the table when Pimentel blocked Soriano and unintentionally hit her on her face. (That’s what we call, “In you face”). UST back on the game with Dmac having applying combination attacks making good use of her attackers. Game 1 goes to UST!
